Indoor and Outdoor Pool Rules
- Children 6 years and under must be directly supervised in the water by an individual 15 or older, who must be within arm’s length at all times.
- Children over 6 years of age, but under 11 must have an adult within the pool facility at all times.
- Lap lanes are for lap swimming and water exercise. During busy times please share lanes and observe lap lane etiquette by circle swimming/dividing the lane. If not needed by an adult, children may use the lap lane to practice if they are able to swim laps without stopping/hanging onto the lane lines. It is not a play area.
- Appropriate and approved swim wear is required. No gym shorts.
- Swim diapers are required for all children under 2 and any child not yet potty trained, with a swimsuit.
- For safety reasons, flotation devices must be Coast Guard approved. Inflatable Water wings alone are acceptable.
Outdoor Pool Rules
- Orion Township Parks and Recreation reserves the right to shut down the pool when the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees or poor weather conditions.
- Management has the right to remove members and guests from the pool for misbehavior
- Parent/Guardians are required to be in the water and in arms reach of children under the age 11 who cannot pass a swim test.
- Swim Tests offered:
- Orange swim band (Play pool only): Child must be able to swim/tread the width of the pool and back to pas this level.
- Purple swim band (Lap and play pool): Child must be able to swim/tread the length of a lap lane and back to pass this level.
- Swim Tests offered:
- No running allowed on deck areas or in the locker rooms.
- Food items are only allowed in the designated food areas (fenced-in picnic tables-outdoor pool). Food will be available for purchase through Standard and Co. Cafe. no commercial food items permitted.
- Designated stroller parking area is available when using the outdoor pool.
